Welcome to WiseOwls.life, a safe space for co-parents and their larger spiritual family to connect. We provide a platform for sharing activities, ideas, and support, all while respecting your privacy and ownership. Our unique technology keeps your content on your own devices, giving you the power to choose what to share and with whom. At WiseOwls.life, we're building a new kind of platform for co-parents and spiritual families. You can securely share activities and ideas with your loved ones, knowing that your privacy is our top priority. Our technology is different: instead of storing your data on our servers, it lives on your laptop and tablet. This means you maintain full ownership of your content, and you have the power to decide exactly what you share.
Which of these options feels most authentic to your brand, or are there specific elements you'd like to combine?
I've mentioned it as a way for coparenting to suggest that intimate real life interaction with long standing friends and family, not so much "tutors online".
No set curriculum or checklist of activities and the tech is truly transformative.
Of course. Here is a one-page introduction for WiseOwls.life, incorporating your feedback and focusing on the core differentiators you've outlined.
Welcome to WiseOwls.life, a different kind of platform for co-parents and their wider spiritual family. We believe that true connection happens in the real world—through shared experiences, laughter, and the simple act of being present with those you love. Our platform is a tool to support, not replace, these intimate, real-life interactions.
In a digital world that often feels out of our control, we are building a safe haven. WiseOwls.life is for long-standing friends and family, a place to share ideas and activities without the intrusion of social algorithms that track, target, and manipulate.
Your Data, Your Control. The internet has trained us to believe that our personal information is a commodity. We are conditioned to accept that our photos, thoughts, and conversations are "theirs" as soon as we press "share." WiseOwls.life challenges this paradigm. Our technology is truly transformative because it runs on your laptop and tablet, not on our servers. This is not security as an afterthought; it is a fundamental design principle.
No Vendor Lock-In. Unlike traditional platforms that hold your data hostage, we give you the freedom to choose. You can share and collaborate on your terms, without the fear of being locked into a system that forces you to stay. Your folders, your files, your data—they are always yours. If you decide to leave, your content leaves with you. There are no expensive or cumbersome migration processes because your information was never in our system to begin with.
No Cyberstalking or Invasive Algorithms. We stand against the very things that make so many online platforms unsafe for families. Our system is not designed to create a "social feed" driven by engagement-boosting algorithms. It does not analyze your activities to sell to advertisers or suggest content that can be harmful. The only people who see your shared content are the ones you explicitly invite, and the only agenda is to help you connect and co-parent, not to keep you endlessly scrolling.
A Platform for Real Life. We don't offer a set curriculum or a checklist of activities. Instead, we provide a clean, secure space for you and your spiritual family to share the unique ideas and wisdom that emerge from your own lives. It's a place to coordinate, inspire, and keep your community close, while always empowering you to step away from the screen and into the world.
Join us at WiseOwls.life and take back control of your digital life. Because your thoughts and works belong to you, not to a system.
1. What specific frustrations have you experienced with existing co-parenting apps or social platforms that WiseOwls.life aims to solve?
Data lock in, curriculum which robs both parent and child of the uninventiveness that an unschooling approach would give, ads and activities or submissions, additional screen time and most painfully making the device one of endless consumption instead of as a tool with which to learn and hone skills including computer usage and coding.
Social platforms dullen the mind and our sensitivities. I am yet to see a linkedin post which requires a choice between 10 to 15 subsequent activities or calls to action or a way to share it with my own family / network where it will shows up as a task.
These all are possible with a large screen not a mobile.
The creation mindset is simply not being cultivated and we adults have material fantasies and our children are not really being prepared for the world like the movie payvit forward makes us think about.
2. How do you define "spiritual family," and how is this concept different from a traditional social network or friend group?
I am primarily designing it to prepare a goodgeneration.org like I promised my friend Simon Anholt. But parent-child-coparent collaboration is simply a MUST for this.
Its not a network for the petty and frivolous, its for those on a mission and those adults who would like their children to have (in good time) serious sensibilities and tools to heal the world, a song I heard at a wee 6, but still strongly believe is possible.
3. Why is the "online/offline" dynamic so crucial to your vision? What real-world activities do you hope to facilitate?
By offline I mean groups, study buddies and small families haveming all their material outside of the internet, on private "repositories" that can be hosted anywhere using Git. Or using Google Drive with a note taker like obsidian.md to sync.
Im not prescribing the activities but I mean a little more than a click in a park maybe a science project created and shared online, or a long awaited visit to a grandparent and multiple journal entries that follow.
Git means our journals can remain for life while still be only shared with who we want. Its not messy to maintain or locked in on some big corp database.
4. Beyond privacy, what does "intimate real life interaction" mean to you in the context of co-parenting?
Im referring to intellectual maturity and emotional development, discussions on social causes, movie reviews, personal life choices.
A system of trust within the family or group because none of this content need go anywhere outside a private machine or a github or other boundary respecting server.
5. What is the core problem with the idea of a "tutor online" that you are trying to avoid?
Ill let time answer that..
Thank you for those detailed and insightful answers. They provide a much deeper understanding of the "why" behind WiseOwls.life and its foundational principles. Here’s a summary of the key themes you've shared:
Your response to question 5, "I'll let time answer that," is a powerful statement. It suggests that the negative consequences of online tutors will become self-evident over time, and WiseOwls.life is an alternative designed to preempt those problems.
I am ready for the next category of questions whenever you are.
